other random September memories

No time for captions...

Celebrating the Gralls!

We were lucky enough to celebrate 2 birthdays with the Grall family 2 weekends in a row!  Last weekend we went to California Pizza Game Zone and surprised Erin for her birthday and today we celebrated her little girl, Ellie's, birthday.  Sadly, I didn't snap a single picture of the birthday girls (a short video though). :(

15 month check-up

Weight: 22 lbs 14 oz
Height: 33 1/4 inches
Head circumference: 18 3/4 inches

The doctor said he was growing perfectly on his growth curve.  Still tall and lean. :)

He's at the age (actually a few months ago) that he understands the doctor isn't a fun place.  You can tell by the pictures, he wasn't too happy to be there and we had to pull all the tricks out of the bag to keep him occupied.

We are very happy with his development in all areas and the doctor seemed pleased too.

"I know what's going to happen when she comes back in the room."

He got the typical 15 month shots and we also decided on the flu shot at the last minute.  We go back in a month to get the 2nd part of the flu shot.  Yippe! (sike.)

Happy Birthday, Eden!

This couldn't have been a better party!  And since Kaden loves Elmo so much, he was in heaven.  He loved celebrating with his buddies for Eden's 2nd birthday!

To top a great party off, we got to take a goldfish home as a favor.  We named our fish, Dorothy, after Elmo's goldfish from Elmo's World.

Sadly, he already went to goldfish heaven. :/

It's a bird, it's a plane....

Kaden has taken a big interest in airplanes and helicopters this month, so we went to the local airport for a little fieldtrip.  We got to see airplanes take off and land and even see some skydivers jump out and float down near us.

We met some other, older boys there and they sat and watched the airplanes together. It was so sweet because the older boys treated Kaden like he was their younger brother.

Now we've taken airplanes and helicopters to the next level.  Kirby bought himself Kaden a remote control helicopter.  He loves it!

Cherry Grove Pier and first surf lesson

We've taken a few trips to the Cherry Grove Pier this month and Kaden, like most new places, loved it!  We walked all the way down (pointing out all the trashcans on the way), ran around, and watched people fish.  Kaden wasn't sure what to think about the shark he got to touch, but we took a few photos for him to look back and help him remember.

Kaden even got his first surf lesson this month!  One proud dad moment.  He got his second one shortly after the first and seemed to enjoy the new experience.  Next summer should be interesting!
