spring break happenings

Here are a few pictures I wanted to make sure I posted from our spring break.  We had a lot of time with our man, so of course, most all of the pictures are of him.

Scared of the vacuum at first, but loves it now.  He's figuring out how to turn it on and off

Yes.  He's in the dishwasher.

Ridin' Dada's shoulders

Baths are so much fun!

Helping Dada fix something

One of his new favorite toys... spatula

There aren't too many foods he'll eat right now, but cottage cheese is one of them.  Typically, he wants to feed himself too.  Makes for an interesting time.

More bath fun

Learning his name with the mats Grandpa and Grandma Hosner got him

Getting ready to go to daycare, so Mama and Dada can go to a movie.

Dance Moms

Okay... I have to admit it, I watch Dance Moms!

So when a friend of ours told us that the show was going to tape a competition at North Myrtle Beach High School, my eyes lit up and I got way too excited!  (I tried to act cool, but I probably didn't hide it too well)  Last weekend, I (along with my hired paparazzi, Kirby) went to try and get a glimpse of my favorite dancers, moms, and of course Miss Abby Lee Miller herself.  We stood in the back and were able to watch the awards.  As they got closer to announcing first place, I saw the girls from Abby Lee Dance Company all look at each other and hold hands (just like I've seen on the show), so I got my camera ready...

At one point after the awards, we saw some of the "famous moms" walk out.  We said hello and that we liked their show.  Surprisingly, they were nice and said thank you.  Then we saw all the dancers following Miss Abby around the auditorium, asking her for pictures.  I didn't want to pass this perfect opportunity to get a picture too...haha.  Even though it's the worst picture ever of this pregnant mama, I just had to post it anyway.  I was probably the oldest, non-dancer or mother to get a picture with Miss Abby that day.... but I love it!

only 2 more months

left of my daily blogging challenge!  Thank goodness!

I started 2011 off with this great idea...   But it's days like today when I wish I never started.  I have nothing to post about.  I'm sitting here listening to Kirby play guitar, thinking about how I can't wait to eat ice cream but I need to workout first, but wasting time sitting at the computer looking up all things baby/pregnancy.

Only a couple more months of these types of posts...
Ironically that's when we'll have tons of things to post about... imagine that.

Thank you...thank you

Thank you to the person who gave you the award
Thank you Ashley from Everyday with AME!  What a great surprise :)
I love reading her blog and the nice comments she leaves on our blog!
Thanks again!

Share 3 random facts about yourself
1.  I've always wanted to be a meteorologist.  Weather is something I've been interested in for awhile and sometimes I become obsessed with it.  Living on the coast makes for an exciting time with hurricane season.  I wouldn't change anything about what I do now though... I love being a teacher!

2.  I hate being late!  "On time" for me is a few minutes early.  If we are going somewhere and we arrive a few minutes late or even exactly on time, I cringe inside.  I usually give myself a cushion of extra time too... in case something happens... like an accident or I get stopped at a lot of lights or I forget something.

3.  I had a personalized behavior plan in 1st grade.  I talked too much and so my teacher (who I'll always remember as a "mean teacher") would send home a smile or frown face to show my parents how my talking was that day.

Mr. Turtle

Kirby is trying to get into the turtle saving business. He's saved 2 turtles in the middle of the road lately but this one was pretty feisty... I guess he didn't want any help crossing the road.

get me out of here!

I was able to get Kirby to go shopping today!
Like most guys, he doesn't like shopping.
Can you tell?.. it made his hair stand up straight!

He goes a few times a year and gets anything he needs from just a few stores.  He bought himself a big pile of new school clothes today and I probably won't get him to go shopping again until next year.... seriously.  I soaked it all up and enjoyed it while I could today :)  This weekend was tax-free weekend too, so that made shopping even more exciting!

I'm not sure what came over him, but he even cleaned out his closet when we got home!  Now he has some new clothes, old clothes to take to Goodwill, and an organized closet!

Redemption

We had registration at our school today.  So after a long day of being there, my nose is stuck in this book.  It just may be the last one of the summer too. Boo...

Seriously!

Okay, this isn't right now... it was at 8:00am when I worked out.
It already felt like 94 degrees outside!
No fun I tell you!

We are gearin' up for a night filled with some good television.
Dorks- I know.

Shark Week (which I made fun of Kirby for wanting to watch it, but now I'm excited too)

MTV's 30 Year Anniversary Special

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Random Thursday

I'm sure there is a place to link up on Thursdays when you have nothing to write but random stuff... but I can't find it.
So here, in no particular order, here is the random stuff on my mind.
-------------------------------
Casey Anthony. Really?!  I'm so frustrated about this whole thing, yet I can't pull myself away from the TV!  I'm so mad at HLN for their all day coverage!

My friend Rachel is at the hospital (in Ohio) about to give birth (hopefully that's what's going on) to her first baby girl!  She texted me around 4:30 and said she was on the way to the hospital and she'd keep us updated.  I haven't heard from her since... this baby has us all practicing our patience.

Remember those blueberries we picked this weekend?  Well Kirby used some on his oatmeal and I had some as a snack.... the rest, I froze.  When I took them out to thaw today, they turned mushy!  I almost threw them all away... but at Bible study tonight, my friend Nancy gave me a recipe for a Fruit Crisp.  She said I'll be able to use the blueberries in that, so we'll see how that turns out.

Tomorrow starts our weekend!  No set plans yet (that's Kirby's favorite kind of weekend)... I can't believe how fast summer is going!  Soon enough it'll be time to go back to school.

our new dining room table

Well... today we had a to make an unplanned purchase and we weren't happy about it.  When I woke up and turned on the computer this morning, it wouldn't boot up.  It kept giving me error messages about the hard drive.  I knew that wasn't a good sign, so I waited for Kirby to look at it when he woke up.  It was just as I suspected... kaput.done.dead.

So instead of buying a new dining room table (that we've wanted for over a year now), we had to use that money to buy a new computer!

I was a little nervous I wasn't going to be able to post tonight, but it worked out... Phew!  I just finished catching up on some of my favorite blogs and I'm about to participate in Jenna's Commenting Challenge

Lost in the city

This is our trip around town on our golf cart this morning.  We started off with plans to go to the new Farmers Market (just a few streets over from us), but then decided to do a little exploring.

We drove down a few dirt paths, grassy fields, and back roads along the way.  We discovered a new way to get to many places on our side of Hwy 17 (Pancake House, Sonic, Hardees, Subway).
...which may or may not be a good thing.

While we were out, we decided to check out the new library near us too.

Of course we had to snap a few posed shots while we were in there.

And then the grand finale was lunch at Taco Bell!  Woop Woop!

Now tell me that isn't a fun time!

pretty in pink...toes

I actually almost always do my toes and nails myself.  I used to go to a salon, but after doing them myself a few times, I realized I can do a half decent job at it and save the cash.

Today was different though.  I just wanted a little pampering and have them do it up reeal good!
And they did.
Now I'll keep up with it for the rest of the summer.
*The guy probably thought I was crazy.  Who takes a picture of their toes while they get a pedicure?!  Me.  Come on... I needed something to blog about, right?
