Anna's new ride!

After searching for about 2 months, I finally found the right car I wanted. The Civic was showing it's age and we decided to give it some time off. We're going to keep it, though. Now that we don't have to drive it much, Kirby's going to work on some of the mechanical problems.

And without further ado----- here's the new ride!

Kirby just had to try the long board... it didn't fit though ;)
...I told him the only time he's allowed to use it is if he needs to haul his surfboards. :)

Lots of storage too... we've already used it to take a motorcycle part to Office Depot to ship.

We even figured out the front and rear seats can be positioned to make a really comfy bed. We want to try to camp in it sometime.

The new addition to our house

We've been very eager to buy ourselves a patio set lately and we finally did this weekend. We put together a few different pieces of several sets and created our own. We love it!

We can't wait to grill and eat outside for once. :)

4th of July

Happy 4th of July! Kirby and I went to the beach to celebrate our 2nd annual Subway picnic on the beach before the Cherry Grove fireworks. We even added some delicious chocolate brownies to the picnic this year!

Last year we sat at 8th Ave. N., but this year we sat on 6th Ave. S (our normal spot-farther away from the pier). It was a lot different from last year- that's for sure! We were surrounded by amateurs setting off what looked like professional fireworks. They were going off all around us, along with some other firecrackers. We felt like we were in a war zone! After it got dark, we didn't even notice the "real" fireworks had even started. We enjoyed our picnic, the fireworks, and each other's company.

The King's Tribute to the king

Recently the world heard the news about Michael Jackson. Of course, I don't want anything in our lives to go forgotten, so I got my camera out to take pictures.

Then Kirby and I wanted to pay tribute to him in a fun way. We were being very silly &.... well... I'll let the pictures & videos do the explaining...

Pura Vida

Kirby and I had a great time in Costa Rica! Congratulations to Jon and Sam... the wedding was wonderful! Here are some highlights from our trip.

5:30am on Sunday our group pretty much filled up the Spirit Air area.

Once we got to Costa Rica we took a 2 hour bus trip to Jaco. We were all very hungry so we stopped for some snacks and drinks. This was our first attempt to pay in Colones (their money)- very interesting at first, but we got the hang of it.

If you get car sick easily the ride to the condo wouldn't have been for you. All through the mountains- many areas without guardrails.

Finally made it!

First thing the guys did was surf!

A huge group of us walked around town one morning. We bought some souvenirs, ate lunch (had a language barrier with our server), and did a little grocery shopping too. All were great learning experiences!

A little "hole in the wall" bar (all the bars were, really)-

We had a couple cookouts at the condo. We were able to relax and meet some more of Sam & Jon's friends and family.

What a relaxing tram ride to the top of the rainforest. We were able to see a few animals and lots of different trees/leaves.

The King families (Americans & Brits) @ the all you can eat seafood buffet.

Here they are-1 more day until the wedding!

Part of the surfing group in Hermosa.

Wedding night- it rained, but it all turned out great anyways.

Hoffnagle family :)

Pic w/ the PE teachers...

Dinner at The Backyard in Hermosa.

Smoothies with the Baeli's (Braydon- 5 yrs old- told the picture)

Fun in the pool!!

On our way out of Jaco, we stopped to see the alligators.

Bye-bye Jaco, Costa Rica!

Costa Rica or bust!

We are off to Costa Rica on Sunday morning!!

Kirby and I are going to celebrate the wedding of our 2 friends. Jon-the groom, is 1 of the 3 PE teachers that Kirby worked with this year. We also hope to get to spend some quality time with each other while we are there too, as this trip is part of our honeymoon. We'll be doing a lot of relaxing, surfing, and celebrating! I'm sure I'll post TONS of pics when we return... so keep an eye out.

"School's out for summer"

....well almost. No more kids, but we have to go back on Monday and Tuesday. We have been celebrating a lot of retirements this week. It's been an exciting time for teachers!

...20+ years to go for me! YIKES- that's an awful lot of kids still!

This party we had to dress up like Marilyn. Nancy (in the black & white) went all out... down to the dog in a purse.
