It's a family tradition :)

Kirby's sister (Shelley) and the kids (Josh & Kailee and friend Katie) came into town Saturday. For the past 2 summers they've come to our area and we've been able to meet up with them a few times during their visit. Today we met them at their condo for a day at the pool. It was beautiful and nice to hang out and catch up.

This evening we just had to continue our tradition of ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. Just like last year (2009) we had a nice time together.

On Thursday, all of us are going to meet up with another nephew, Corey. He is on vacation just south of us with a friend so we thought we'd bring the family there and spend some time with him. Afterwards, we're heading to our favorite Mexican restaurant... Mexico Lindo! I'll post again soon!

Wedding Central

Ahh... I can breathe! :) I had so much fun recently helping a friend out with her daughter's wedding!! I helped prepare and decorate things a few days before and then Kirby and I went to the wedding together. I've gone through wedding withdraw since our wedding (almost 2 year ago) so it was fun to get back into the fun and craziness of a wedding! I wouldn't have helped out just anyone... Jeanna is a great friend and I was so happy to help her!

And... It's back to school time!! I had school related stuff to do Monday and we both had to help out with registration at each of our schools. The summer is slowly coming to a close... only 7 more days left! It was nice to see some people at school though.

Here are a few pictures from registration.

A visit with Uncle Steve & family

Today we enjoyed some time with Kirby's side of the family. Uncle Steve and his wife Barb are staying for a week in Surfside Beach just a short drive south of us. So this morning we woke up early and headed out for some breakfast before we met up with them at their place. We hung out at the pool for a bit while Kirby's cousins, Stacy and Eric, played with little Carly. Carly sure has grown up since we saw her last! (Click here to read about their last visit.)

We came inside, ate some lunch, and then Kirby and Carly played some one-on-one mini soccer in the living room together. They each had a pretend "coach" they consulted with during the game and even dressed the part with "toilet paper sweatbands". They had a good time.. but soon afterwards it was time for Carly's nap. While she slept, all of us were able to sit around and catch up on things. It was very nice visiting with them all and can't wait to do it again soon!

Rainy day Tuesday

Nothing too much going on here. Kirby and I had plans to head to the beach early today and get some sun before the humidity took over, but... our plans changed when a storm came in. So instead, we hung around the house and did some things we've both been putting off for awhile (going through mail, cleaning the master bathroom, doing laundry). Once the rain stopped, we drove down to the mall to pick up my engagement ring I had sent out to get checked and tightened a few weeks ago. I've been ringless for about 2 weeks so I was happy to finally get it back today! (I'm sure some of you ladies can relate to the emotions.)

Once we got home, Kirby went surfing. He's been takin' it easy with this shoulder/elbow lately, but I'm glad he's back doing one of the many things he loves!. He decided to take his bicycle to the beach (fully equipped with homemade surfboard rack) and I just had to get some pictures. :)
