Spring has sprung...at least for now.

It seems like everyone is out enjoying the spring-like weather today (which they should be)!  Kirby and I took the golf cart to go rent a movie and you would have thought it was summer! 

golf carts, convertibles, bicycles, motorcycles... people were walking, playing outside, washing cars... people in shorts, short-sleeves, and I even saw a bathing suit!

I'm reading all over Facebook and the blog world about the beautiful weather!  Isn't it great?!  The kids loved not having to wear their coats at recess today... and well, I did too!  I rolled my windows down on my way home this afternoon and couldn't help but take a picture (at a stoplight of course).  However, the picture doesn't do it much justice.

I'm loving... our beautiful weather lately!  It's only going to get better this weekend too!

I'm loving... that Kirby and I get to see some of my family at the beginning of April.  We are going to head down to Charleston for the Cooper River Bridge Run and stay with my Aunt Crissy & Uncle Tim.  I can't wait!

Happy Love Day

Oh Happy Day everyone!!

It was all about love at school today.  Everything we did was centered around Valentine's Day.  We played Valentine's Day BINGO with our spelling words, practiced identifying long & short vowel valentine words, estimated and graphed with candy hearts, ate heart pizzas, and ended the day with a friendship ice cream party!  The kids had a great time and they all went home full of sugar (and hopefully full of love)! 

After school we celebrated our curriculum coach's birthday with some dessert.  (as if the teachers didn't have enough sweets already)  Happy Birthday Cindy!

Happy Valentine's Day Eve

We are a pretty non-traditional couple, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that we celebrated Valentine's Day early.  Even if we went out for the "typical" Valentine's Day dinner tomorrow, it would feel like any other day with Kirby.  He does such a good job making me feel special and loved no matter what day it is. 

For our early Valentine's Day dinner, we finally decided on...wait... wait.  You're guessing Mexico Lindo, right?  Wrong. Chili's.  It was another great time with Kirby!

Today I worked on making homemade Valentine's Day cards for my students.  Aren't they cute?  I got the idea from a teaching blog (which I can't find right now) and loved the idea!
