Happy 1st birthday Kaden!

These are the best moments in our lives... I could watch this video over and over again.  The shakiness in your Dada's voice, the nurse calling out the time you were born, the yells and screams from you as you came into the world, when Dada gently touched your face for the first time, and then when the nurse said it was time to see Momma.

These 2:00 minutes will make me tear up every time.  We are so thankful and blessed to be your parents, Kaden Douglas.  You've changed our lives like we could never imagine and we love and care about you like you will never imagine!

We want nothing but the best for you now and in all the years to come.  We love you buddy!
Happy 1st birthday!

first professional haircut!

After contemplating the idea of getting Kaden's hair cut... we finally decided to do it this week!  He was starting to get a mullet (like his dad rocked in the 80's..true story)... and even though we liked the crazy, bedhead look in the front, we decided it was time to bite the mullet...I mean bullet.

We went to Beauty and the Beach to Christina and she did a great job with our man!  I have to say though... he was unusually calm and sat pretty still , which surprised Kirby and I both!

I'm pretty sure our cute, little baby left the appointment a big boy stud muffin!

hemangioma check-up

We had Kaden's hemangioma check-up last week in Charleston.  Since our last appointment, we hadn't noticed it as much and even thought it might have shrunk, so we weren't too worried.

We planned everything out right for our departure.  We left right around nap time so he'd sleep a good while.  And he was out like a light...

Once we got there, we were called back and had to have his eyes dilated before the doctor could check some things.  Then we waited and played while the eye drops did their job.

"Okay... I'm ready doc!"

Passing some more time while we waited for the doctor.

The longest part of the appointment was waiting for the doctor and for Kaden's eyes to dilate.  After, that it was a quick report... the hemangioma wasn't any bigger and still wasn't effecting his eyesight.  Thank goodness.  We won't have to go back for another year!

Then it was back in the car seat for the long drive home.  By the time we made it back, everyone was ready to get out of the car!

Happy Father's Day

Children hold our hands for awhile, but our hearts forever.

A dad is a son's first hero.

I love your Dad even more... now that I've seen him love you.

He didn't tell me how to live; He lived and let me watch him do it.

Dad, you're someone to look up to no matter how tall I've grown.

photo dump- another catch up post

I hope this is the last photo dump type post for awhile.  Since summer break is here, I hope to have some more time on my hands (haha... yeah, right) and blog more often.

For now... here is what's been going on-

takin' "naps" at the beach

eating cookies and trying this sippy cup business...

playing outside

loving the new toy his friend got him

taking a lot of golf cart rides

finishing up the school year!

celebrating Ms. Hulett's engagement and retirement

field day with Dad

Just 2 days left until school is out for the year!  We are looking forward to some more free time with our boy and as a family

Kaden and I got to sneak a few hours in at Dad's school last Friday for field day.  The kids at his school hadn't met Kaden yet, so that day was a perfect opportunity.
