spring break happenings

Here are a few pictures I wanted to make sure I posted from our spring break.  We had a lot of time with our man, so of course, most all of the pictures are of him.

Scared of the vacuum at first, but loves it now.  He's figuring out how to turn it on and off

Yes.  He's in the dishwasher.

Ridin' Dada's shoulders

Baths are so much fun!

Helping Dada fix something

One of his new favorite toys... spatula

There aren't too many foods he'll eat right now, but cottage cheese is one of them.  Typically, he wants to feed himself too.  Makes for an interesting time.

More bath fun

Learning his name with the mats Grandpa and Grandma Hosner got him

Play date with Daveena

Getting ready to go to daycare, so Mama and Dada can go to a movie.

bumps, bruises, and scratches

I guess it goes along with becoming mobile...
bumps, bruises, and scratches.

He got his first big bruise on his cheek when I was home alone with him (on one of his many sick days) and it freaked Mama out!  There was a little blood involved on his gums too, so I called Dad right away.  I probably freaked him out too because he came home as soon as he could.  Luckily, he was fine and the bruise didn't stick around very long either.

A few days later, he was trying to stand up at our side door and slipped and fell on the ledge.
Again... another bruise, plus a scratch.

And... a bump...when trying to climb onto the dishwasher.  That one scared us because he hit his head on the ceramic tile floor.

He's been a trooper though.  Nothing a little love and a bottle can't help. ;)
He's all boy.  That's for sure!

Happy Birthday Maggie!

Saturday was Miss Maggie's 1st birthday party celebration!  It seems like just yesterday we were all pregnant, going to baby showers, and now all our babies are turning a year old!  It's crazy how quickly time flies!

Fresh from an afternoon nap... the BIRTHDAY GIRL, MAGGIE!

Everything was perfect... the weather, the decorations, the activities, the food... we definitely took some tips for Kaden's celebration in a few months.  It seemed like everyone was very relaxed and really enjoyed themselves.  I know we did!

"Hey girl.  head nod  What's up."

The party really tuckered Kaden out, so he decided to take a snack break.

Happy Birthday, Maggie!  Thanks for inviting Kaden and us to your birthday party!

9 month check up

Here our Kaden's stats at his 9 month appointment (April 4)-

weight: 19.2lbs (40%)- lost some weight due to being sick

length: 29.5inches (90%)- whoa, he's got some height

head circumference: 18inches (60%)- stayed about the same

{eating puffs, waiting on the doctor}

Everything went well at the doctor.  She checked him over and then we talked about the milestones he was reaching, the formula/food he was eating, and then I was finally able to ask a few questions.  We ended the appointment with a shot- only one... and he did great!  One big yell and Dad was able to pick him up quickly and calm him.  We were so happy for a great appointment!

It sure tuckered him out though...

another Charvat visit

Dave and Darlene came down for Easter weekend to soak up some sun (which there wasn't much of) and visit with us a bit.  We went out to eat for Mexican one night and then came back to the house and hang out and played with Kaden.  The last time they were in town was back in August, so we had a lot of catching up to do.

We continued our tradition of celebrating Easter with them again this year.   As usual, we had a non-traditional dinner of Dave's famous london broil and ended it with Darlene's delicious pound cake.  It was great!

Next time they are in town, it will be with their whole family.  We look forward to some more good memories!

Kaden's first Easter

Look who stopped by our house Easter morning!

After Kaden woke up from his morning nap, he was greeted with two overly excited parents.  I'm sure he didn't really know what was going on, but next year.... hopefully he'll be just as excited as us.

The Easter Bunny brought our happy boy a few fun things in his first Easter basket.

{Yes, that's chocolate.  The Easter Bunny bought two actually.  One for Kirby and one for me.  Wasn't that nice of the Easter Bunny?}

Enjoying Easter dinner... 3 puffs, a scoop of cottage cheese, and 3 peas. (that's about all we can get this kid to eat.. and he has to do it all himself... with a spoon)

a little fresh air

Kaden is still on the mend from the stomach bug, so we took him out for some fresh air Saturday afternoon.

We blew some bubbles from Grandpa and Grandma Hosner

explored the grass for the first time

and did lots of crawling around
