Fun with the Tamberino family isn't complete without food and some ice cream! We got lunch at a little place in Calabash and then enjoyed some ice cream at The Creamery.
Shoe shopping wore this kid out! He's been truckin' around the house nonstop with his train lately, so we thought we'd go ahead and get him some walking shoes last weekend.
size 4 1/2...
...and obviously not happy about it.
He's seemed to adjust to them well. The lady at the store said he shouldn't wear them all the time. We put them on him in the morning and they take them off at daycare sometime in the afternoon.
Is it me, or do the shoes make him look grown up now?
Started the month off with the stomach bug again and now he's got the "daycare crud"... runny nose and a little night cough.
We are starting to get use to the "daycare crud" though. I guess it just comes with the territory.
sleep
Ever since the stomach bug, he hasn't been the same. He was waking 2 times a night, once to feed, earlier this month. Thankfully, we are down to 1 time a night... usually somewhere between 2-4am. Then he'll wake up and suck a bottle down about 6:00am when we are up for the day. We are hoping for better sleep patterns this summer (more specifically, 3 weeks from now when school gets out).
sizes
-9 month shirts, but I put a few 12 month shirts on him, too
-He's in 9 month shorts/pants, but a few 6 months things can fit him
-size 3 diapers
-size 4 1/2 shoes (sometimes wide, depending on the shoe)
likes

loves being outside... park, beach, driveway, golf cart... anything
A few random things he obsesses over loves:
-car keys (little does he know that it's a ploy to get him in his car seat)
-ceiling fan
-kitchen dishes and pans
-opening the kitchen cabinets
-trashcans
-mailbox- we go outside, he always points and "says" he wants to visit the mailbox
-lawn mower
dislikes
The only thing that makes him mad is being in his car seat too long. And when I say "too long" I mean longer than... 5 minutes. We sing to him, play peek-a-boo, talk with him, give him a bottle or pacifier... nothing seems to work. Everyone said it would get better once we turned him facing forward, but it only helped for about a week. I think the novelty wore off quickly and he's back to hating it again. BUT... he loves riding on the golf cart. Who knows?!
Oh wait... spoke too soon. He also gets very angry... like full blown temper tantrum... when he walks with his train and bumps into things and can't move anymore. Oh goodness gracious! We don't know if we should walk away or just stand and laugh. Wow.
things to remember
figuring out how more things work (ie- trashcan, washing machine, lights, drawers & cabinets)
shoe shopping
his "vocabulary" has expanded too- wish we had a video of him "talking"
We can't wait to get out on Fridays and spend time with Kaden. This past weekend was no different. We had so much we wanted to do with him. We made it to the beach for a bit, took some golf cart rides, played outside, went shopping, and then played at the park on Sunday for a bit.
We took him to the park when he was very little, but this was the first time he could understand it better and have fun. He loved the slide and tunnel and just crawling around under the ropes and monkey bars. Kirby and I both agreed we'll be spending a lot of time at the park this summer. We can't wait!
I've watched this over and over again and even though it's the cutest thing ever, it just breaks my heart. He instantly falls in love and then she runs away. Maybe I'm just too emotional... but I just don't ever want to see him get hurt by someone.
Last week I ran in the Little River 5k race. It was just a small, fun race in our area. Some of the girls I run with from school did it too and we even added a few more teachers to the team!
Surprisingly (since I hadn't been consistent with my workouts), it was my best time yet... 25:10. I'll take it. I'm debating on my next race. It might be the Warriors 5k Mud Run at Thompson Farm. That'll be a fun one though.
I grew up in Canton, Ohio. Kirby grew up in Friendsville, MD. We met while teaching at an elementary school in Baltimore, Maryland. After getting engaged in June 2007, we moved to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We were married on August 9, 2008 on the beach near our home. We just became parents to our first child in June 2012.
