6 more weeks of winter?

Today, my class talked about Groundhog Day.  We checked the weather and then made some predictions about whether or not the groundhog would see his shadow.  Most students thought he wouldn't.

I guess we'll see on Wednesday...

Feelin' like spring

That's right... it was about 62 degrees today with beautiful blue, sunny skies!  Here is the message from the Dove chocolate I ate today...

Sounds tempting on a day like today :)

UPWARD basketball

About a week ago, one of my students told me he had his first UPWARD basketball game coming up.  He reminded me again on Thursday and again on Friday afternoon.  He was so excited!  Another student then told me he was playing that day too with another boy in our class.  I love going to the kids' extracurricular activities, so I couldn't pass up the chance to see 3 of them together!
We ended up seeing many new and old students.  They all did so well- they made their teacher proud. :)

39 years ago today...

...this "kid at heart" was born!

If you know him well, these pictures won't come as a surprise to you.  He's silly, sometimes crazy, active, funny, and always fun to be around!

Here's the proof!

And I am lucky enough to spend the rest of my life with him!
Happy Birthday Sweetie!

book club meeting

Some of the teachers went out to Olive Garden after school today for a "book club meeting".  We needed to celebrate our first successful 5 day week in awhile... we made it!!  We all had lots of laughs and lots of food.  We really enjoyed the time together away from school and can't wait to do it again next Friday!

birthday dinner

We started Kirby's birthday celebration early with dinner at Mexico Lindo tonight.  His real birthday isn't until Saturday, but we always start celebrating birthdays early.  Actually, Kirby's birthday started about a month early... when he got his GoPro camera.  He also wanted a chest strap for it, so I told him to order it for himself as another part of his birthday gift.  So... eating his birthday dinner early just went right along with the whole early theme.

Umm...what am I going to do for his real birthday?

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I enjoyed participating in WILW last week, so I'm here to do it again.  Check out what others are lovin' on this Wednesday, here.

I'm loving hump day!  I can't believe it's already Wednesday!  We haven't had a full week of school for awhile, so I thought this week would go by slow... but thankfully it hasn't been too bad.

I'm loving waking up to our newly painted/rearranged/decorated living room!  It's so new and spacious looking.

I'm loving that my friends Rachel and Ben are expecting!  However, I have to say I am NOT loving being so far from them during this special time.  BUT I'm loving that they're expecting their little "nugget" in July, so we'll be able to make the trip to see them.

I'm loving birthdays!  Particularly my husband's birthday.  He's the big 3-9 on Saturday folks!  ...And the first grade teachers celebrated Annette's birthday at school today.  All the first grade teachers get together for each of our birthdays to celebrate and eat a little something sweet.  Nothing big, but enough to make you feel special. :)

rainy Tuesday

creative title, huh?  Well, that's about all I have to say about today.  It's been raining all day long!  I'm not motivated to do much... other than go to bed.  Honestly, I could probably lay down right now (it's 6:35) and go to bed for the night.

Tomorrow is already hump day though! :)

B-team game

Tonight we went to cheer on the NMBMS Warriors in a game against Whittemore Park. Kirby had to work the game, making sure no one came into the gym with food, drinks, or candy... so I took some pictures of some of our friends' children.  Both the girls and the boys won!

Way to go Warriors!
