remix challenge

Only 5 more days of my challenge left!
Sunday was the hardest day so far.  As you know, we traveled to Charleston to spend the day with my family and go to a baby shower.  Well... in one day, I tried to cheat twice!  First, I talked myself out of wearing a dress I borrowed from someone.  And thank goodness for Kirby, because then he talked me out of wearing a pair of shoes I didn't have in my 21 pieces.
Close call!

However, I wasn't talked out of of the shoes until we left the house for Charleston, so I don't have a picture of the "real" outfit I wore.  You get the idea though. :)

Steppin' out of the box with my outfit today!
Black and brown together (even though you can't really tell in the picture) and my shirt was tucked in!

Baby shower in Charleston

I was so happy I was able to see my family and celebrate with Kelli at her baby shower yesterday!  We had brunch at a tea house and played a few fun games and watched Kelli open her gifts.  The guys stayed back at Lucy & Andrew's place and had a fish fry lunch with a fish the guys had caught the day before.

We headed back to Lucy and Andrew's place to show Daddy (Roscoe) some of the gifts and watch him open a few of his own.  Then we took a walk down memory lane when Roscoe and Megan opened a box full of things from his childhood that my Aunt Crissy had saved.

It was a beautiful day, so we all hung out at the pool for the afternoon to relax and catch up together.

It means so much to me to be able to see my family and be a part of a special time in Roscoe and Kelli's lives.  I can't wait until next time we can all do it again.
Maybe it'll be to celebrate another baby coming into the world... or... a wedding. Umm...
Either one, I hope it's soon!

Dirty Myrtle Mud Run

Last week, some girls from school asked me to run the Dirty Myrtle Mud Run (presented by TBonz restaurant) with them.  Considering I haven't ran a race since high school, I was a little hesitant.  I've been working out, but definitely not training for any type of race.  I went running Wednesday and that's when I realized what I was in for... (This morning when I woke up, I was still sore from Wednesday... Yikes!)

Thursday night Tina, Anna, and I made our shirts.

Our motto was slow and steady wins the race... and it worked!

Aloha

With only 4 days of school left, we celebrated with a luau cookout for lunch today.  Our principal got the teachers and children leis to wear so we all felt like we were on an island!

Here is what I wore to school today.  I had to rewear the same tanktop for the 2nd time this week (3rd time since I've started this challenge) and tie a floral scarf (considered an accessory...FYI) around a skirt.  Then once I got to school, my friend Jeanna let me wear a grass skirt.

BUNCO!

When we moved here 4 years ago, I had never heard of Bunco.  (I guess it's a southern thing...)  After being asked to sub a few times, I learned the very simple, yet fun game.  My friend Tina needed a few subs again tonight, so Janie, Anna and I helped her out.  It was nice to get together with some ladies and have fun!  I had a good time...even though I didn't win.  Sad face.

Janie's 1st BUNCO...

and another one right afterwards!

{Next generation Bunco players}

Last night when thinking about what to wear today, I realized I hadn't worn this black sleeveless cardigan yet.  After thinking about it, I figured I'm never going to wear it.
So... I made a switch!
