please help me if you can?!

I just tried to upload a few pictures onto the blog for a future post and got this message...

week 28

About the baby? Kaden is a little over 2lbs and gaining more and more fat everyday.

Maternity Clothes? nothing has really changed... some of both.  The dress above is just a regular dress in a larger size.

Stretch Marks? thankfully, no

Gender? boy :)

Movement?   Oh yes... all the time!  Some kicking/punching and I think some rolling too.

Sleep?  I'm not sure why, but I'm sleeping better now... maybe it's because I've finally figured out the tricks or maybe it's because I'm so tired.

Food Cravings? nothing different from the normal, pre-pregnancy cravings ;)

What I Miss?  sounds crazy but... wearing my contacts without getting protein build up within a few hours.  I wonder if anyone else experienced this while pregnant...

Symptoms? varicose veins started to pop out big time on my right leg.  It's causing pain and discomfort, so I told my doctor about it today and he sent me for an ultrasound to look for blood clots.  I'll find out the results in a few days I guess.  In the meantime, I'm elevating my legs and wearing the super attractive support socking a friend from school let me borrow.

Best Moment Last Week?  having some friends get together and plan a shower for me.  It means more than they will ever know.  I can't wait for April 14 :)

Looking Forward To?  Spring break!!  There are so many things I want to do... paint, organize, clean, research, buy...

Family of 3

We finally got to meet my 2nd cousin, Conor, this weekend!  We drove down to Charleston early Saturday morning and registered at Babies R' Us, grabbed a bite to eat, and then hung out with my family for a few hours.  It was so nice getting to see them!  Lucy and Andrew seem to be adjusting well as new parents.  It's crazy to think of us "all grown up" now.  I remember (what seems like yesterday) traveling to see them in WV, climbing trees and ironing our hair.... now we're parents!  Crazy!  We finished the trip with dinner at Jim N Nick's BBQ with my Aunt Crissy and Uncle Tim.

And since I know they read our blog....
It was so nice to see you all!  I'm so glad we are just a short drive away.  Conor and Kaden will be able to grow up with memories of each other, just like us. :)

St. Patrick's Day

I haven't been the best blogger lately, so I am going to try to catch up on some posts this week.
Here is what we did last weekend.

-------------------------------------------------------
Kirby and I usually go to the city's parades, so on St. Patrick's Day we woke up early (well, early for Kirby) and drove over to main street for the St. Patrick's Day parade and festival.  It was a beautiful day, so the streets were packed with tons of locals and tourists.

{this guy looked like the real deal}

{...and he kept coming back through the parade and popping up with different groups}

{what's a parade at the beach, without some golf carts}

I can't believe Kaden will be with us the next time we go to a parade... that's crazy!

baby Maggie is coming soon!

It's the final stretch for Bess... only a few more weeks and she can welcome her daughter into the world.  Her shower was last weekend in Conway and it was so cute!  The hostesses had everyone create a onesie for Maggie.  There were different sizes to choose from and all kinds of crafty tools available to use.  (I wish I would have taken a picture of all of the finished products... it was great!)

So many people love this little girl already...we just can't wait to meet her now!

Proud Aunt & Uncle/cousin

We were able to see our nephew, Corey, and Kirby's cousin, Nathan, this weekend!  They both play for a college in Garrett County, Maryland (where Kirby is from) and the team came down to Myrtle Beach for a week long tournament.  Nathan didn't get to pitch either of the games we saw, but we were able to watch Corey play both games.  With Corey being a catcher, hopefully he and Nathan will get paired up sometime during the tournament.

St. Patrick's Day cupcakes

I tried out one of the St. Patrick's Day ideas I pinned from Pinterest tonight.  I changed a few things and even though they didn't turn out just like the pin, the kids are going to love them tomorrow...because kids love anything, right?

A few pictures from my version.

Seraphine maternity review & giveaway!

A few weeks ago, I was asked to review a piece of clothing from Seraphine.co.  Let me tell you, I was super excited to do this because this company sells some awesome maternity clothing!  The dress I chose was the Taupe Panel Tie Tunic.  It seemed very versatile and looked comfy.  I knew I'd be able to do a lot of different things with it and get a lot of use out of it in the next few months.  When it arrived (only a few days after I ordered it) I quickly tried it on for my first fashion critic (Kirby) and he liked it.  He said it accentuated all the right areas and looked great on me!

I had a baby shower to go to last Saturday, so I thought this was the perfect time to try it out.  I added a cardigan at the last minute because it was rainy and breezy outside.  It's still a good length to try to wear it without leggings and a pair of heals too.  I can't wait to play around with it some more to find other ways to wear it.

Here are a few other items I like from Seraphine.

Pink Twist Front Top-  I love the bright color and yet it's simple... just my style.

I'm a cardigan girl, so the Pleated Cardigan is perfect for me!

Cropped Zipped Denim Trousers- Perfect for Spring.

I am also a fan of the Reversible Taupe/cream Band Bikini!

Here is the best part... you have a chance to win $75 to spend at Seraphine.co!
Just leave a comment telling me what you'd order if you won.  I'll randomly choose a winner on Thursday, March 21.

And... if you can't wait for your chance to win, anyone who reads our blog, gets 20% off Seraphine clothing!  Just use the discount code, APK20, when you checkout.

week 25

About the baby? Our boy is around 1.5 pounds and the size of a rutabaga (whatever that is).  I've read that he could start to have hiccups soon.... how crazy is that!

Maternity Clothes? some, but not because I have to...  Some friends gave me some maternity clothes that are cute, so I started to try out a few.

Stretch Marks? Yes, I'm getting bigger, but no stretch marks.

Gender?  Kaden Douglas

Movement?   He's definitely moving around a lot lately!  A few mornings around 5:30ish, he went on a kicking streak.  I just stayed in bed and felt the movement with a smile :)

Sleep?  sleeping fairly well.  I toss and turn and my hips are starting to hurt, but I'm sure it could be worse.

Food Cravings? sorry, nothing exciting here... no cravings.

What I Miss?  I don't miss any one thing that much.  I like being pregnant :)

Symptoms?  backaches, frequent bathroom breaks, growing belly

Best Moment Last Week? getting Kaden's bedding in the mail!  We don't have his room ready, let alone a crib to put it in yet, but I am sure excited for it!

Looking Forward to?  We are starting his nursery during spring break in a few weeks!

100 days!

100 days left until our son arrives (or so the doctor says).

I can't believe we are that close to meeting Kaden!  It seems that just the other day we announced we were expecting... and now.... only a little more than 3 months left.  Every day that passes, it seems more and more real.

Let the countdown begin (as if we haven't been counting down already... or up...whichever way you look at it).

Happy Anniversary Grandma & Grandpa

On March 3, my grandparents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary!  They are both great people and wonderful role models.  I wish them the best in more years to come!

Oh, and Kaden was even mentioned in the newspaper write-up... their first great-grandchild!

Showering Jennifer and Hadley

My friend, Jennifer and her husband Ryan, are welcoming her baby girl into the world in just a few months.  Yesterday her mother and mother-in-law threw her a baby shower.  Let me tell you... this baby fashionista probably already has 10-15 pairs of shoes!  And since I won't be putting any bows on Kaden, I had to get a few cute ones for Hadley.
