Mother's Day

Dear Kaden,

Today I celebrate my first Mother's Day.  Thank you to you and Dada for making my first Mother's Day special.  We had a great time together!

catch up post

I hate to have to do these types of posts, but it happens.  I just don't have the time to blog like I use to.
Wonder why??

So here's what we've been up to...
Kaden was good and healthy for about a week before he started with a runny nose and cough again.  Thankfully, a week later, he's getting better!

We've been to the beach several times and he LOVES it! Yay!

Took a stroll at Mayfest on Main... obviously, loved it.

Eating food like crazy!  Ever since he got over the stomach bug, he's just loved solids even more!

Enjoying the weather on golf cart rides

puppies

While doing errands a few weeks ago, we stopped by the pet store.  There were puppies for adoption outside so we just had to let our inquisitive boy have fun with the puppies.

He loved them...their licks and their soft fur...  We talked about getting him a puppy friend to play with, but quickly realized how much extra work that would be and decided to just stick to a family of 3 right now.  Maybe sometime in the future buddy...

For you, Momma...

Hey, Momma.  Happy Mother's Day!  Dada and I were recording in "the studio" the other day while you were asleep.  He laid down a few quick guitar tracks, and I added some vocals.  Yep, that's really me laughing in the song!  It's my first music video... I hope you like it!

first beach day- 2013

I was just going through some "Muffins with Mom" photos (Sunday's post), and noticed I never blogged about our trip to the beach a few weekends ago!  It was Kaden's first trip there this season.  We didn't stay long, as we weren't prepared with sunscreen, so we just played with the sand a bit and dipped our feet in the water.  He seemed to be soaking it all in and wasn't sure what to really think quite yet.

We plan to get there again this weekend and can't wait to frequent it more often as soon as the weather gets better and we have more time... aka: summer.

throw up & diarreha

I know... great title right?

It's what we Kaden had to deal with for over a week... and finally might be out of the woods now!

Poor guy threw up at school 2 Friday's ago and I picked him up and took him to the doctor.  The doctor we saw said it was the stomach virus and gave him medicine to help with the vomiting.  He threw up just a few more times, but then the diarrhea came on... full force.  Several times a day.  Poor baby's butt was raw and red.

NEVER has this happened in 10 months!  He's just way to active to lay down and fall asleep like this!

Tried the BRAT diet

learned new things while staying home with Mom and Dad

made tents

washed lots of yucky laundry

Everyday we thought he was ready to go back to daycare and then he'd have a huge blow out... or not act himself... or (after he finished the medicine) throw up again.  So we took him back to the doctor this past Friday and had her reconfirm our Dad's thoughts that everything was okay.  Thank goodness... he was just on the mend from the week long stomach virus.

read lots of books

played peek-a-boo

For the most part, you would have never guessed he was sick.  He acted like nothing was wrong.  Our boy was a trooper! I think it was all a ploy to stay home with Mama and Dada all week.  Don't worry buddy... we LOVED the extra time with you!

He's pretty much back to normal... so he went back to daycare today and it was back to work for Mama and Dada.

a year ago today

A blogger, Mateya, who I've followed for awhile now, posted a picture on Instagram of what she looked like a year ago.  She was only 18 days from meeting her son!

I thought I'd do the same.
Interesting.
I remember people looking at me with big eyes when I told them I was only 33 weeks pregnant.  I really didn't think I looked that pregnant.  Looking back now... I was that pregnant!  Goodness!

I can't believe that Kaden was in that big ol' belly... one year ago!
