He's just like one of the kids!

Tonight some teachers from school went out to California Pizza Game Zone to eat and play games.

Kirby and I hung out with Annadora (my principal's daughter) most of the night. :)

Racing...

Air hockey...

Arcade games...

The best part was helping her pick out prizes and playing with them. Who would have thought a fake snake and whoopie cushion would entertain a little one for so long? She loved it!

Thank you!

Kirby searched high and low for an ice cream cake for my birthday. I had mentioned about a week ago that I would like an ice cream cake with crunchies (you know... those crunchy fudgy cookies in the middle) and I guess it was a bit of a challenge. After 3 different stops, he finally found the perfect one. We had a slice (or two) before we headed out to the middle school basketball game.

Thanks to my husband, family, and friends who made my birthday so special. I had a great day!

Here are a few pictures from the night.

29 years of life

Today I turned the big 2-9! I'm not gonna lie.. it was kinda a big deal in my head. I struggled with realizing I'm VERY close to 30 now! 28 didn't seem too bad. Actually I didn't think twice about turning 28. 29 though... it's a different story. Oh well- I'm thankful for another year of life and can't wait to see what this year has in store for me. Plus, I know my husband will keep me young at heart! :)

my husband can't keep a secret!

So my Christmas present... early. My birthday present... early. He just can't keep things a secret! I love it though... :)

*Not pictured is my early gift from my grandparents. I'm going shopping with my giftcard this weekend!

Welcome Back!

After a 16 day Christmas break... it was back to the grind today! I love my job though and I was excited to see my kids! Our class made New Year's visors to wear and we talked and wrote about our New Year's resolutions.

365 Day Photo Challenge

I've decided for 2011, I want to participate in a 365 Day Photo Challenge. I must take & post at least 1 photo a day. (more information) With as many pictures as I take and my new camera... I'm sure it won't be too hard for me, right?

Here's a few photos from today. The garage was the first room in the house to get arranged when we moved in a few years ago. Now, it's the first room in the house to get rearranged. Kirby's been painting, organizing, and rearranging for 3 days now. Last night he was up until 3:45am working on this project. He's such a hard worker and that's one of the many things I love about him. Even if it is... just the garage. ;)

out with the old, in with the new

Last night we met the Matthews' and Ellison's out for New Year's dinner at Bonefish Grill. Our reservations were for 4:45 and everyone gave me a hard time for such an early time, but it ended up working out perfect. We all enjoyed great meals and ended it with a piece of coconut pie from one of my student's parents (who happened to be sitting on the other side of the restaurant). After dinner, Kirby and I went home to play some Just Dance 2, eat more dessert, take a nap (well, just me) and then seal the night with a kiss! :) It was laid back, but of course, a great time!

{Tina showin' off her new heals!}

We celebrated the start of 2011 with my good friend Jeanna and her family. We had a "southern style" New Year's Day lunch with collard greens and black eyed peas. This was a new experience for Kirby and I since we are used to the pork and sauerkraut in the north. I did give everything a try though because they say (from what I learned from Kadi) collard greens & black eyed peas give you wealth and luck for the new year. I guess it was worth a try...right?! :)

{Mary, Lisa, and Jeanna- can you tell they're sisters?}

Every year Jeanna's family has a white elephant exchange on New Year's Day. Kirby and I walked away with a gift card to Chili's and a coupon book for businesses on the Grand Strand.

{What I THOUGHT I was going home with... until someone stole it from me!}

Kirby and I felt right at home when we played LCR and Catch Phrase with everyone. We always have a good time playing games!
