On Christmas morning, Kirby wrote "Merry Christmas Sweetie! I love you!!!" on a wall (with permanent marker) we planned on repainting because we didn't like the first idea/color.
So a few days later we decided to repaint the wall green. After a long day of painting, it was finally finished and looking good. Well, about a week later we noticed the message was starting to show through the green paint! We couldn't believe it! Luckily, it wasn't too big of a deal to paint another coat over it because we had to get the paint back out and fix up some other areas. That night, after about 4 coats of paint, we thought the problem was fixed.
Well... we thought wrong. This weekend while sitting in the living room, Kirby noticed the message bled though again! You may not be able to tell, but I tried to take a picture of it. *click on the picture to make it bigger
So, I think painting will be in our future again soon. OR... maybe we'll just leave it as a decoration?!

That's pretty incredible. It's truly a message that can't be covered up.
However you might try several coats of KILZ white primer over the area. That stuff seems to hide all. Geoff used it a lot in his room when he and Ashlee repainted. And there was a lot of drawing on those walls.
